ENPL and SAPL Announce Playoff Alignment

US Club Soccer announced today that the South Atlantic Premier League (of which SSA is a member) joins the Virginia NPL and the Boys ECNL Southeast Conference as the newest qualifiers in the southeast portion of the country for the ENPL (Elite National Premier League) playoffs.

By providing qualification paths for both team-based and club-based competitions, the ENPL will feature the best boys players in US Club Soccer. The regular season competition within each NPL and Boys ECNL Conference are unique and independently structured; however, consistent technical and competitive standards will apply, and all teams will be focusing on the same postseason destination: the ENPL Playoffs.

The ENPL is a collaboration between US Club Soccer and the ECNL to raise standards in youth boys soccer across the country.

Quotes from participating clubs:

Simon Davey, Director of Coaching for Southern Soccer Academy: “Having competed in NPL for the last three years, we feel that this exciting new development is the ideal program for our elite boys teams to compete at the regional level. The league will also give players great college exposure.”

David Allred, Executive Director of Wake FC: “I think it’s a great platform of competition that will be a phenomenal development opportunity for the players. At the older age groups, it will really serve as a great showcase for players that want to play college soccer.”

Kian Brownlee, Director of Coaching for United Soccer Academy-Mount Pleasant: “We are truly excited to be a part of the great league structure of the NPL. We are convinced that it will be the most consistent competitive environment in which our players will grow and our coaches can focus on their development and quality of play.”

John Cirillo, Director of Soccer for Triangle United: “Going into our fifth year of NPL, Triangle United is excited about being a part of the South Atlantic Premier League once again. With the new clubs coming on board, as well as lmoving into the ENPL, the South Atlantic Premier League, in my opinion, is going to be a very strong league. We are ooking forward to great competition for many years to come."

Iggy Moleka, Director of Soccer for United Futbol Academy: “United Futbol Academy is looking forward to a new season in the South Atlantic Premier League and to be a part of the ENPL. We believe that the league will provide a well-balanced schedule and good competition for our boys program. The NPL has been growing stronger every season, and we feel like our conference will provide a strong challenge, as well as good exposure to college coaches.”
